What Comes After Graduation? Janat’s Story
Last week, we introduced you to Joan, a young mother and graduate who is using her talent and design skills to build a life of independence.
This week, we’re honored to share a story about where education, determination, and support can lead.
Meet Janat.
Janat is a RUHU graduate who looks back with deep gratitude for the education and care she received through your support. She knows her journey would have looked very different without it.
With the help of RUHU’s Career Relations department, Janat has secured a well-paying position with Blue Band, a well-known brand in Uganda. She plays a key role in making sure their products are delivered, stocked, and displayed across multiple grocery stores. Though the job isn’t directly related to her field of study, her studies were important in qualifying her for the role. She’s thriving in it and it offers room for growth, giving her both stability and the opportunity to build a long-term career.
What we’ve learned over the years is this: in Uganda, even a college degree doesn’t guarantee employment. But thanks to your generosity, students like Janat are equipped with more than just education. They are equipped with confidence, resilience, and the resourcefulness to step into the world and build a future.
Providing for yourself in Uganda is no small thing. It is something to be deeply proud of. And we couldn’t be prouder of Janat.
We hope her story encourages you as much as it encourages us.
Stay with us throughout July as we continue to share the stories of RUHU’s graduates—each one a reflection of the life-changing impact your support makes possible.
