The final testimony in our series…What “more” is doing.

Last month we shared with you RUHU’s goal to “do more” in response to the heartbreaking situations children, especially those in under-resourced countries, are experiencing as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It was RUHU’s goal to increase their programming and care of the children that they serve through academic coaching and mentorship workshops. Over the next few weeks we will be sharing personal testimonies from children at RUHU that talk about how Covid has affected their lives, and their thoughts about the impact of the coaching opportunities and workshops being provided by RUHU.

At this time, Uganda does not plan to re-open schools until January 2022. Beautiful Response is looking to provide an additional $29,000 to support RUHU as they continue to provide vital resources and education to protect these children from further negative effects. As you read their stories please consider donating to support these needs. Thank you!

My name is Viola. I am in senior four and am 18 years old.

I am here to talk about Covid-19. It has broken our hearts thus leaving us miserable. Many schools are closed and children are home. Peoples’ businesses have been shut and people resorted to getting money out of their businesses to take care of their families. Parents have sent their children into marriage thus leading to early marriages and its associated problems. I thank God that I am part of the RUHU family and they have been there for us come rain or sunshine. RUHU has brought us teachers to teach us and on top of this, it has organized workshops for us and we have learnt many things–how to behave as youths, we have learnt about mindset, avoiding peer groups that can force us into pornography and addictions, not to disobey our parents, character transformation, anger management, how to pray and trust in God, maintaining sanitation and hygiene, how to make good decisions, and preventing ourselves from sexual acts as youths and the related issues such as diseases among others. So this workshop has done us well and I request for it to continue. Thank you so much for considering my request. May God bless you always.

Thank you everyone for your support throughout this crazy year. RUHU has been accomplishing so many amazing things in the midst of Covid and that’s largely possible due to your generous donations. The programs RUHU has been dedicating time and money to have been transformational for these students during such a tough time, as we hope you have gathered through these heartfelt testimonies. Please, consider supporting RUHU students financially and, as always, keep them in your prayers.
