In his July update, William included this brazen bullet point in his list of prayer requests:
- Provision of full Term 3 funds because Term 2 has been challenging for the schools.
I chuckled a bit when I read it. Bless you, William. But “full” Term 3 funds? We haven’t sent “FULL” term funds in quite some time. Times are tough, and fundraising is tougher still.
Each budget that RUHU sends for the term is ambitious. Not ambitious like iPads for each student or drones for a photography course, but maybe a computer or two for the kids to learn computer skills on. Maybe funds for an excursion to a park – things like that. And recently, there just haven’t been funds for a “full” budget. We’ve covered salaries and food, but costs have risen, and the money does not go as far as we’d like it to.
The FULL budget is around $105,000. Which would take 100 people donating $1,050. Or ten people donating $10,500. Or 1,000 people donating $105. No matter how you slice it, it is a large number and beyond the scope of an August fundraising campaign.
But what I love about William and our beloved friends in Uganda is that none of that is going to stop them from praying for it. No meager prayers here.
I am anxious thinking about how great the need is. But recently, reading in Matthew’s Gospel, I read about when Jesus looked out on the multitude of broken people. He wasn’t overwhelmed by their great need. He was filled with compassion, and he said, wow, what a harvest!
Provision of full Term 3 Funds. What a prayer to pray?! What an ambitious request to put before God? If you want to read the full list of William’s prayer points, they are listed below. If you can help us meet our Term 3 needs, we’d be so grateful. $10,000, $1,000, or $100. Whatever you can do to help us provide for the kids in Term 3 will be a part of answering this unapologetically ambitious prayer.
Praying with you, Caleb
