RUHU THOMAS ROBERT LOCHNER FARM

“In the month of November, our success stories are as follows:
- We have managed to plant 1 acre of coffee seedlings.
- We have also planted 1 acre of matooke.
- In the last meeting we had with the ED we agreed to have more food grown at the farm to cut costs for food, so we added more gardens of cassava and sweet potatoes.
- Since we are also to begin raising livestock, we have planted elephant grass totaling half an acre. This will be used to feed the cattle we are to rear at the farm.
- This month, we hosted a farmers’ training at the farm to share what projects we do. It was a learning opportunity for the farmers from the community. A total of 30 farmers were hosted, and this number will increase as the training goes on. These farmers participated in the following:
- Piggery farming
- Nursery management
- Irrigation system and management
- Sweet pepper growing
- Greenhouse farming
- Mr. Mudde Martin was involved in training the farmers about piggery management and how the system of IMO (indigenous microorganisms) works and operates.
- Mr Lumunye Honey has handled the Senior 1 and 2 classes. He has engaged the students in nursery setup, vegetable growing, and pest and disease control. He also trained the farmers who visited the Thomas Robert Lochner farm on tomato growing, coffee growing, and management practices.
- 120kgs of vegetables were delivered to the RUHU homes and schools.
- We have also managed to transplant a total of 6,500 seedlings, and this included the following:
- Tomatoes
- Cabbages
- Kale
- Spinach
- Sukuma
- Onion bulbs (still in the nursery)
- Also in this month, we had a department workshop where we learned from different key speakers about child protection and decision-making. These were beautiful sessions that really opened up our minds.
Moving Forward:
- As a department, we have selected vegetables that are in high demand at market. Our target is to generate money for the project so that it is self-sustainable in the future. Vegetables selected are:
- Onions
- Cabbages
- Tomatoes
- Peppers
- We will do more trainings to attract farmers and clients to purchase the seedlings.
- The units for both cattle and chicken are set to kick off construction next month.”
RUHU SECONDARY SCHOOL

“I thank God for the good things He has done for us in this year, for the grace He has bestowed on us at RUHU Secondary, for the gift of life, and for keeping our students and staff safe and well. Additionally, we thank God and glorify Him and give Him the honor since He has been faithful throughout the year.
I take this opportunity to convey my sincere gratitude and appreciation to our beloved sponsors. We are so grateful for the provisions throughout the year; surely we have received a lot of things at RUHU Secondary. The provisions in terms of health services, welfare, and development. We have received new toilets, water pump, boys’ dormitory, kitchen, and vocational equipment.
I would like to thank you so much for the salaries that are always paid throughout the year. The money earned through salaries received has sustained our lives, families, parents, and our children. We are so grateful, and may God bless you so much.
We thank God for the month of November. For a great end to the school year. Now students have returned home for the holiday break. I would like to thank our new DOS for the time he has spent with the school. Academically, things have improved. Teachers have been attending prep supervisions in the evening and improving class lessons so our students can get the best educational services. Also, UNEB process has been completed successfully. I would like to thank our dear Director for allowing the recruitment of new staff, and I would like to report that they are really working well. These new workers are very sensitive, respectful, and committed.
In conclusion, we thank our Executive Director and Beautiful Response for everything you have done for us. You have been there for us at RUHU Secondary. Thanks for standing firm and for the strength you have shown. Thanks for listening to us. Thanks for always reading the reports, and surely most things are always worked on. Therefore, as the Secondary school, we promise that come next year, we shall not disappoint you. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year of happiness.“

“We thank God that the first RUHU Vocational Institute students have completed their tests and coursework, and they will sit for their final exams on December 15th. So, the first quarter will end by the 20th of this month.
We express gratitude for your support and provision for the staff salaries, food, and all other necessities of the organization. All the staff have sent messages of appreciation for the staff salaries. In the meeting I had with Secondary staff, the message is simple: they thank Beautiful Response for motivating them with the timely payment of their salaries, and this has made their lives and families move on well. They also thank Beautiful Response for supporting all the programs of RUHU Secondary.
We thank God for the BR/RUHU standard agreement policy. This policy has provided growth of the organization from the lowest position to the highest position in terms of professionalism and job ethics.
We thank God for the farm provision. We thank you for providing funds and providing salaries for the farm workers who have put in a great effort on the farm. Construction of the cow house will kick start this month, and we thank God. We are grateful for everything.
We thank God for all your support and donations for the holiday programs and the slum Christmas party. We are grateful, and we are going to have a successful holiday program.
We also want to communicate that all RUHU students and schools have finished school and are on their holiday break. All schools concluded, and they shall resume the new school year on January 19th, 2026. We are now gearing up for a great HOLIDAY program.“

“We seek God’s favor for RUHU’s mission and goals to be achieved. We pray for the programs to be impactful and to bring about lasting change. We pray and seek God’s provision for the RUHU’s financial needs in 2026. We pray for wisdom and unity for the team and leadership. We pray for resilience, perseverance, and strength to overcome challenges and continue working towards RUHU’s vision. We pray for divine wisdom and guidance and ask for God’s guidance on decisions and direction.
We are also praying that God provides funds for the running of the RUHU Vocational Institute by the start of next year, because it has been very challenging running the Institute for the first quarter.
We pray for the year-end fundraising campaign to be successful with Beautiful Response and for other fundraising events.“
