Dear Friends,
As the year comes to a close, I want to speak with you openly about where things stand for the children and students at Raising Up Hope for Uganda (RUHU).
Because of your generosity, $82,250 has already been given toward our year-end goal. That generosity brings relief and hope, and it is a testament to how much you care.
And yet, as we look ahead to the start of 2026, there is still a significant need before us. To fully cover RUHU’s early 2026 needs, $212,750 remains. These funds are not extras or long-term dreams. They are what will allow the children to begin the new year without disruption and continue receiving education, care, meals, and stability.
- $144,000 to cover RUHU’s 2026 monthly budget shortfall and keep daily care, meals, and staff in place for the entire year.
- $81,000 for Secondary School Term 1 needs, which pays teacher salaries and covers tuition, housing, daily meals, scholastic and boarding needs, and medical care.
- $45,000 for Primary School Term 1 needs, which pays teacher salaries and ensures access to schooling, learning materials, daily meals, medical care, and a safe environment.
- $25,000 to cover University Semester 1 fees, which provides personal, living, and education expenses for students pursuing higher education.
These numbers represent real moments we want to avoid — a university student forced to pause their studies, staff waiting for their salary so they can care for their families, and students unsure whether they will have school materials or even a meal at school.
December can feel heavy with need and overwhelming with all the emails, deadlines, and goals. But RUHU is not just our partner. It is a community we know, love, and walk alongside every day. The children there are counting on us for consistency, daily living needs, and the chance to keep learning.
If you are able, would you consider making a year-end gift to help close this gap? Your generosity now helps ensure that when the calendar turns to January, nothing stops for these children.
Thank you for believing in RUHU, for caring so deeply, and for standing with these kids as they step into a new year. We truly could not do this without you.
With sincere gratitude, Laura
