Your Generosity Makes a Difference!

You’re creating a brighter future for the most vulnerable in Uganda. Here’s a snapshot of the impact you’ve made, directly from RUHU’s Executive Director!

RUHU PRAISE & PRAYER HIGHLIGHTS

from RUHU Executive Director William

Dear Donors, Sponsors, Partners, Friends, Beneficiaries, and Supporters, as May draws to a close and we step with faith into a new season, I am overwhelmed with thankfulness for the faithfulness of God and for each of you who stand with us in this mission. Month after month, your prayers and sacrificial giving continue to write beautiful chapters in the story of Raising Up Hope for Uganda. This month has brought fresh reasons to rejoice, and we share them with you with full hearts.

PRAISE – We give praise for…

“Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.”  — Psalm 107:1

Girls’ Dormitory: A Vision Nearly CompleteWe rejoice that the girls’ dormitory construction has crossed the 65% completion mark this month — a tremendous leap forward from where we stood in April. What once felt like an impossible dream is now rising, brick by brick, beam by beam, through your faithfulness. The days of our girls sharing two to a mattress are drawing to a close. We see God’s hand in every course of brick laid and every day of progress made, and we are deeply grateful.

Vocational Hostel: Freedom from the Burden of RentThe fully completed vocational hostel continues to be a living testimony of God’s provision. Students are moving through their training with stability, security, and a roof that belongs to this mission. The landlords who once held us in financial tension are a chapter behind us. God is so good! The vocational institute construction also presses forward steadily, and we believe that when its doors fully open, generations of young people will find pathways to dignified livelihoods.

Staff Salaries & Operational Needs MetDespite rising fuel prices and the increasing cost of living across Uganda, we can say with joy that our staff received their salaries this month. Every teacher who poured into a child’s learning, every caregiver who looked after a young life, every cook and groundskeeper who kept our community running — they were honored and sustained. This is your generosity made visible. Thank you.

Term 2 and Quarter 2 2026: A New Chapter of LearningTerm 2 has opened at both RUHU Primary and RUHU Secondary Schools with renewed energy and hope. Children returned with their books, classroom and boarding requirements, their curiosity, and the resilience that defines so many of the young people we serve. Stepping into Term 2 with school resources, food, medical support, and more, staff, and smiling faces is a true praise report.

Quarter 2 has opened at RUHU Vocational Institute and for the RUHU children in other institutes. Children have been blessed with their tuition fees, rent, and support while at the office. God answers prayer.

Medical Outreach: Dr. Pamela Tipler & Team Serve Our CommunitiesThis month, RUHU was immensely blessed to host the medical volunteering team led by Dr. Pamela Tipler. Their tireless dedication and compassionate hearts brought healing and hope to many individuals and families across our surrounding communities. The team conducted medical outreach programs that reached scores of beneficiaries — men, women, children, and elderly community members — many of whom had so many professional medical needs.

From consultations and treatments to health education and follow-up referrals, the impact of these outreaches was profound and far-reaching. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Tipler and every member of the volunteering team who gave of their time, skills, and resources to serve the vulnerable among us. You did not just treat conditions — you restored dignity, offered reassurance, and showed these communities that they are not forgotten. To God be all the glory for sending such servants to us.

Construction Updates: Building for the FutureWe are thrilled to report encouraging progress across multiple construction projects at RUHU this month. These developments are a direct result of your faithful giving, and each brick laid is a testimony to what prayer and partnership can accomplish.

Vocational Classroom Block: Construction of the vocational classroom block is progressing very well. The structure is taking shape steadily, and we are filled with anticipation for the day when students will fill these rooms with the sound of learning, skill-building, and purpose. Each phase of progress brings us closer to a facility that will equip young people with the tools they need to transform their own futures and communities

Girls’ Dormitory at RUHU Secondary: Construction of the girls’ dormitory at RUHU Secondary School continues to move forward well. Every wall raised is a promise fulfilled to our girls — that they deserve a safe, dignified space where they can rest, study, and grow. We believe God is honoring the prayers and sacrifices that have gone into this project, and we press forward with faith and gratitude.

Saving Grace Classroom Block: We are overjoyed to share that the Saving Grace Classroom Block is now in the final stages of completion! This is a tremendous milestone and a cause for great celebration. The finishing touches are being applied, and we look forward with great joy to the day it is officially commissioned for use. This classroom block stands as a living monument to God’s faithfulness and the generosity of those who gave toward its realization. Praise the Lord!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our DonorsTo every one of you who gives toward the education and well-being of our children, we want you to know that your generosity is seen, valued, and celebrated. To those who contribute toward our Primary School funds: thank you for keeping the doors of learning open for our youngest and most eager minds.

To our Secondary School donors, your support is shaping the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and change-makers in Uganda. And to those who faithfully sponsor children at every level of their education — primary, secondary, and vocational — you are not merely paying school fees. You are investing in a life, a story, a future. You are saying to a child: “You matter. You belong. You have a tomorrow.”

We are also praying earnestly toward better fundraising in the seasons ahead. We believe God is going to open new doors of partnership, and we trust that as we remain faithful in stewarding what He has entrusted to us, He will enlarge our capacity to reach and serve even more children and families. Please pray with us for a breakthrough in fundraising, for creative ideas, and for new supporters to find their way to the RUHU family.

Navigating Challenges: Ebola Vigilance, Economic Pressures & School Generator

Ebola Situation in Uganda: We write this update with sober awareness of the Ebola situation that has been monitored in Uganda. At RUHU, the health and safety of our children, staff, and community remain our highest priority. We have put in place and are strictly observing all recommended Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in line with guidance from the Ministry of Health and relevant health authorities. These include enhanced hand hygiene protocols, regular health sensitization for staff and students, restriction of unnecessary external movement, and prompt reporting of any suspected symptoms.

We urge all our supporters to pray for Uganda during this time — for divine protection over every community, for the health authorities as they coordinate responses, and for peace to prevail over fear. We are grateful to report that all those at RUHU have remained safe and healthy, and we continue to exercise vigilance and caution. We trust in the God who is our shelter and fortress in every storm.

Fuel Scarcity & The Rising Cost of Living: The ongoing fuel scarcity across Uganda has continued to exert significant pressure on the cost of living for ordinary families and organizations alike. Prices of food, transport, and essential supplies are continuing to rise, and RUHU has not been immune to these pressures. Running our schools, feeding our children, and maintaining operational activities in this environment requires greater resources than before.

Despite these headwinds, we give thanks to God and to you, our faithful sponsors and supporters, that RUHU has been able to keep its operations running and its children fed and in school. We are, however, keenly aware that continued prayer and financial support will be essential as we navigate these challenging economic realities. We ask that you keep this in your prayers and consider how God may be calling you to give over and above in this season of need.

Secondary School Generator: We are also facing a significant setback at RUHU Secondary School, where the school generator recently burnt out completely during a service. After assessment, it has been confirmed that the unit is beyond repair and cannot be reused at all. We are praying for God’s guidance as we seek advice on the replacement and for His provision toward securing a new generator. Reliable power is essential for our students’ learning environment, safety, and daily operations, and we humbly invite you to consider supporting us once again as we work to restore a generator at the school.

PRAYER – We ask for prayers for…

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”  — Philippians 4:6

Dear friends, even as we count our blessings, we are equally aware of the needs ahead. We humbly invite you to stand with us in the following areas of prayer as we move into the second half of 2026:

Please Pray with Us For…

~ Wisdom and unity for the RUHU leadership team as we make critical decisions about programming, partnerships, and resource allocation for the second half of the year.

~ New partnerships and donors to join the RUHU family — that God would open the hearts of those He has already prepared to stand with this mission.

~ The health, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth of every child and youth under our care, including those in our primary school, secondary school, and vocational programs, and the successful running of Term 2.

~ Protection over all RUHU staff, beneficiaries, partners, donors, and supporters — divine covering over every life connected to this mission.

~ Peace and stability in Uganda and across the region, that economic conditions would improve, and that the families we serve would find greater security and opportunity.

~ Continued monthly salary provision for our faithful staff and volunteers, who sacrifice much to serve our children with love and dedication.

~ That God’s name would be glorified in and through everything RUHU does — that every child who passes through our gates would know that they are seen, loved, and valued by their Creator.

~ Divine protection and safety for all RUHU children, staff, and surrounding communities amid the Ebola situation in Uganda — that God would be our shield and that strict observance of health SOPs would keep every life under our care safe and well.

~ Relief from the fuel scarcity crisis and economic hardship gripping Uganda — that God would intervene for the families we serve, stabilize the cost of living, and make a way for RUHU to sustain its programs despite the rising operational costs.

~ Breakthrough in fundraising — for God to open doors to new giving channels, inspire creative campaigns, and bring generous new donors alongside our existing donors and sponsors so that RUHU can grow its capacity to serve even more children and communities.

~ The completion of all ongoing construction projects — the vocational classroom block, the girls’ dormitory at RUHU Secondary, and the final commissioning of the Saving Grace Classroom Block — that each facility would be finished with excellence and dedicated to the glory of God.

~ For God’s guidance as we seek advice on the replacement and for His provision toward securing a new generator for RUHU Secondary.

A Word of Deep Gratitude: You may never fully know, this side of eternity, the depth of impact your giving and prayers have made in the lives of children here in Uganda. But God knows. And the children know. Every dormitory bed, every school meal, every tutor’s salary, every brick to construction, every classroom and boarding supply, every textbook — these are not merely logistical provisions. They are declarations to a child that their life matters, that they have a future worth fighting for.

As the Executive Director, I carry the weight of this responsibility with great humility and great joy. Thank you for trusting us with your resources. Thank you for praying over this mission. Thank you for believing that hope can be raised up, one life at a time, in Uganda.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  — Jeremiah 29:11
