RUHU WELFARE DEPARTMENT

from RUHU Head of Welfare Faith

I salute you in the name of the living God. Happy New Year to our director and sponsors, and we are very glad to have entered the new year. Thanks for your support in 2025, and we hope for your support in 2026.

Activities in January:

Day out at Kavumba Recreation Center: On 1st January, we had an outing at Kavumba Recreation Center. It was such an amazing day that the children had to swim and also be involved in other games.

Food in homes: Children have been able to receive food for the whole month, and other necessities of life like soap, toilet paper, toothbrushes, Colgate, sponges, and shavers.

Meeting with caretakers: We had a meeting at House of Hope, where we discussed different issues concerning our work stations. These included general cleanliness of homes, personal hygiene of all RUHU children, most especially the young ones. Protection of RUHU properties. Children’s discipline was also talked about.

New boys from Bwaise: We were able to receive eight new boys from Bwaise slum. We warmly welcomed them, and we gave them beddings like mattresses, blankets, and bedsheets. They are doing good.

Workshops: Our children have been involved in workshops that have been organized by the social work department. It has kept them occupied during the holiday, and they have acquired new knowledge to enable them to change their minds and behaviors. Lunch and breakfast have been given to them each day. Different speakers have spoken, and we believe it has had a very positive impact.

We are so grateful for all the support given to us throughout this month.

from RUHU Schools Sports Director John

This report consolidates key activities, observations, and strategic directions for the Sports Department of RUHU Primary and Secondary Schools during the month of January 2026. It aligns with the annual sports development plan and highlights continuity between term‑break periods and the forthcoming term.

RUHU Secondary School: All students proceeded on official end-of-year holidays as scheduled. No formal training sessions were conducted for students during the break.

Coach Martin:

  • Developed comprehensive training plans for the upcoming term.
  • Prepared competition calendars and logistical checklists (equipment, venues, transport).

Plans are now ready for execution upon students’ return, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity.

RUHU Primary School

Coach Edris:

  • Actively engaged with home children (community outreach) throughout the holiday break.
  • Conducted talent scouting missions in neighborhoods to identify prospective players for upcoming school games.
  • Organized mini‑skill clinics for identified children (basic drills, fun games).

A pipeline of 25 new talents has been documented for evaluation and possible integration into school teams.

RUHU Schools Sports Director Mr. Ssekanjako John’s Remarks: I commend Coach Martin for his foresight in preparing training plans during the holiday. It shows professionalism and dedication to maintaining our competitive edge. Likewise, Coach Edris has demonstrated exceptional initiative by reaching out to community children. This not only broadens our talent base but also strengthens the school‑community bond.

Call to Action: All coaches must remain committed to their work plans for 2026. Consistency, documentation, and continuous professional development are non-negotiable. Let this January momentum set the tone for a successful year.

Recommendations:

Documentation: All coaches to submit weekly activity logs to the Sports Director.

Equipment Check: Verify availability of gear before term 1 resumes.

Professional Development: Schedule refresher workshops for all coaches in Q1 2026.

Conclusion: January 2026 has been a strategic planning and talent‑scouting month. The proactive measures by Coach Martin and Coach Edris position both schools favorably for the new term. Continued commitment from all stakeholders will be vital to achieving the annual sports objectives.

RUHU PRAISE & PRAYER HIGHLIGHTS

from RUHU Executive Director William

Dear Donors, Sponsors, Partners, Friends, Beneficiaries, and Supporters, we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering commitment to our mission.

Happy New Year to all our donors, partners, and supporters. 2025 was a year where overwhelming support was seen, and we are so blessed and honored by your sacrificial support.

PRAISE – We give praise for…

As we look forward to 2026, we thank God for your overall annual support throughout the year 2025. It has been a remarkably generous year from our sponsors, and it has enabled us to reach so many achievements. Great joy reached us, and all the children and staff have been in great moods ever since we received news of the support and funds for the construction of the girls’ dormitory. As we speak, construction is underway, and we are grateful for the support. Such a great start to the year, providing a solution to the challenge we have had all these years. Girls have been sleeping two per bed, and this was a great challenge to the existence of the school, which could have led to closure by the Ministry of Education, but now we are safe and without fear and full of hope.

Thanks for also listening and standing up to the greatest challenge of the vocational department. This year, we have also received money for the construction of the Vocational Institute. This was great news and a solution to the growing challenge of all RUHU kids attending university and finding employment. The construction of this will kick start immediately, and we are grateful. It’s a new year with new things, thanks. Walalalalalala!

We also can’t forget your support and provisions for the staff salaries, food, and all other necessities of the organization. We understand the tougher times of fundraising, but we are so grateful for all that Beautiful Response is doing.

We thank God for all your support and donations for the holiday programs. We are grateful, and we have had a successful holiday program. We have been able to conduct holiday vocational skilling and workshops, and over 100 children have been attending these workshops with a great theme of HUMILITY from Philippians 2.

PRAYER – We ask for prayers for…

We seek God’s favor for RUHU’s mission and goals to be achieved. We pray for the programs to be impactful and to bring about lasting change. We pray and seek God’s provision for the RUHU’s financial needs in 2026. We pray for wisdom and unity for the team and leadership. We pray for resilience, perseverance, and strength to overcome challenges and continue working towards RUHU’s vision. We pray for protection and seek divine protection for all involved in RUHU. We pray for divine wisdom and guidance and ask for God’s guidance on decisions and direction.

We pray that God continues to provide our monthly salaries and monthly operations throughout 2026. We pray for the fundraising campaigns to be successful with Beautiful Response and other fundraising events. We pray that more funds are donated so that we can meet the goal of term 1 school fees for all kids in 2026.
