Greetings:
Praise God, our director and sponsors. I hope all is well. I take this opportunity to appreciate you all for your endless support of the community of RUHU. It’s really amazing that you provide monthly support in different departments to run their activities. May the almighty God bless and protect you.
Activities in March:
– Slum Activities: We were able to visit Kisenyi slum this month. One of the times, we went with Dr. Pamela, Donna, and volunteer Rachel. We were able to talk to the boys and encouraged them with some encouraging words. Dr. Pamela was also able to do wound care for a few boys who had wounds. We also did paper bag skilling with the boys. We were able to serve them rice and water.
– Children in Homes: The children are doing well, and those with minor sickness were managed at our clinic. For example, those with flu, cough, ulcers, and malaria. Those with serious cases were referred to Lubaga hospital for further treatment.
– Home Schooling for the Boys: We have also conducted home schooling for the new boys from the slums at the boys’ home. This has kept them busy and occupied, and prepares them to enter the RUHU Primary school.
– Immunization of Babies: I have also made sure that babies at House of Hope were taken for immunization at Venn Medical Center. This helps to protect children from killer diseases.
– New Girls at House of Hope: At the beginning of the month, we received six young mothers from the slums, each with her baby. The girls are doing well and growing together with their children. They are taking the tailoring class with the tailoring teacher.
– Gifted Hands Project: I have been able to attend to the girls in the Gifted Hands Project every Monday and Wednesday from 9:00am to 12:00pm. We always do reading and writing. I have taught them how to manage customers, write money in words, and also tailoring ethics. However it’s challenging in a way that one of the girls has never attended school. Therefore, we have to start with basic numbers and alphabetical letters.
– Our Visitor Annette: We hosted volunteer Annette from Denmark, who initiated an art movement project. She also spent time with the girls at Gifted Hands. She was able to take us to the art gallery for exposure. We had a wonderful time working with her.
– New Clothes for the Boys: The new boys got some new clothes, like shirts, trousers, and pants. This has helped them to look good and not like on the streets.
– Counseling Session at RUHU Primary: I had a counseling session at RUHU Primary together with Racheal, and we shared different issues with the children in the upper primary since they are in their adolescent stage. I met the girls, and she met with the boys. I talked about the adolescent stage, changes in the adolescent stage, and what should be done during the adolescent stage. For example, bathing daily with a bathing soap, shaving, and wearing pads during menstrual periods.

RUHU NEW HOPE CHURCHES

Nakuwadde Church
Achievements: 1) Consistent Sunday services held throughout the month, including Wednesday services at the church and RUHU Primary. 2) Choir growth with regular practices and new members from the community and RUHU homes. 3) Successful Sunday School ‘specials’ organized by Ms. Racheal, fostering spiritual growth. 4) General increase in church membership.
Challenges: 1) Critical musical instruments (piano, mixer, outlets) are in poor condition. 2) Deficit in seating capacity following the acquisition of a 100-seater tent.
Expectations and Way Forward: The church has launched a one-year fundraising campaign to acquire a new piano, music bases, and sufficient chairs by Christmas 2026.
Lulumbu Church
Achievements: 1) Hosted the RUHU organization birthday celebrations on March 15, 2026. 2) Participated in evangelism missions within Jjeza Zone and Kisamula.
Challenges: 1) The church generator remains non-functional, requiring reliance on the school’s generator. 2) Open windows allow rain to enter, posing a threat to church property.
Expectations: 1) Implementation of rotational services involving ministers from Nakuwadde, Lulumbu, and Kikonge. 2) Planned mission visits to the Central Zone. 3) Hosting a Singles’ Conference organized by the Central Zone.
Kikonge Church
Achievements: Successful completion of the church’s electrical wiring.
Challenges: 1) Low accessibility to batteries for instrument operation. 2) Urgent need for an improved amplifier and musical instruments. 3) High transport costs due to a lack of on-site storage facilities.
Expectations: 1) Youth and Teenage Overnight scheduled for April 24, 2026. 2) Establishment of a dedicated structure for a separate Teenagers’ Church service.

Happy Easter holidays to all our donors, partners, and supporters. We thank God for the overwhelming support as seen in this first quarter of the year, and we are so blessed and honored by your sacrificial support.

As we look forward to the next quarter, we thank God for your overall support throughout this first quarter of 2026. It has been a remarkably generous year from our sponsors, and it has enabled us to reach so many achievements.
This month, the most eye-catching news in our community is the final construction stages of the Vocational hostel. The Vocational hostel will be completed in the next week and will be ready to accommodate the Institute’s students.
We also want to break the news that 6 slum children will be joining our Vocational Institute for the next quarter. And they will be attending normal vocational lectures after passing through the selection criteria.
Other eye-catching news is the final stages of the acquisition of electricity at Village of Hope and the RUHU Secondary School. The contracted electricity company has now delivered a transformer and started the installation process of electricity. This is great news because it comes with the solution to huge generator fuel expenses, the medical clinic equipment will now start working, the security of the school will be given an added advantage, and the whole community will move out of darkness. WooHoo! This is great news for the whole village.
We also can’t forget your support and provisions for the staff salaries, food, and all other necessities of the organization. We understand the tough times of fundraising, but we are so grateful for all that Beautiful Response is doing.
The organization was blessed with a volunteer from Denmark called Annette, who is an artist and worked with the Gifted Hands and Muwala Mulungi projects.
The organization also rescued more kids from the slums, including young mothers from different slums of Kampala.
PRAYER – We ask for prayers for…
We seek God’s favor for RUHU’s mission and goals to be achieved. We pray for the programs to be impactful and to bring about lasting change. We pray and seek God’s provision for the RUHU’s financial needs in 2026. We pray for wisdom and unity for the team and leadership. We pray for resilience, perseverance, and strength to overcome challenges and continue working towards RUHU’s vision. We pray for protection and seek divine protection for all involved in RUHU. We pray for divine wisdom and guidance and ask for God’s guidance on decisions and direction.
We pray that God continues to provide our monthly salaries and monthly operations throughout 2026. And that we overcome the challenging issues we have in schools due to budget cuts.
We pray that peace prevails in the world, give good guidance to all our leaders in the world, and also stop the Iran conflict. We thank and bless GOD.
