Your Generosity Makes a Difference!
You’re creating a brighter future for the most vulnerable in Uganda. Here’s a snapshot of the impact you’ve made, directly from RUHU staff!

RUHU MUWALA MULUNGI PROGRAM
from RUHU Muwala Mulungi Program Lead Lydia
“Through May, the program has been able to skill 50 young women in hands-on entrepreneurial skills, majoring in cosmetics production and snacks production.
Emphasis was put on these skills because they require less capital and time to make, which makes it much easier for the women to incorporate them after the training and therefore start them as businesses in their local communities.
This training is being conducted in the Mbuya slum, which is one of Kampala’s biggest slums and comprises four major slums within the Mbuya area.
Recruits in this training mainly include young girls from the slums who are not in school, single mothers, teenage mothers, and young women from vulnerable backgrounds.
This seventh cohort of young women was also taught business management and marketing and then tasked to market and sell the products that they made during the program, thus making them sales agents for the products.
In the month of May, the young women were able to make sales from the products they made and sold. Of this amount, 50% was used to pay the women who were selling the products, while 50% was retained as savings for future sustainability of the program.”

RUHU SLUM OUTREACH PROGRAM
from RUHU Assistant Social Worker Allen
“We have been able to carry out a number of outreaches during this month. They have been carried out all thanks to BR for the funds to help us keep going. The average number of kids for this month has been 85, which is good.
Activities that took place:
1. General counseling sessions: We have been handling different topics like personal hygiene and the issue of drugs, which affect their bodies and minds.
2. Praise and worship activity: We always engage them in a praise and worship activity to remind them that God is still on their side and there is hope for them.
3. Feeding program: Food and safe drinking water are always given to them, ensuring they have a hot meal each time.
4. Medical treatment: Six boys were given medical care, and many more were able to receive medical care during the RUHU Medical outreach done by the medical department.
Observations:
1. We’ve seen the same children consistently attending the Kisenyi outreach program, which is a promising sign and shows that the program is having a positive impact on their lives.
2. There has been an improvement in the boys’ appearance, who now come wearing cleaner clothes instead of large sacks, which is a significant achievement.
3. We have observed that they are paying attention to what is being taught to them.“

RUHU PRAISE & PRAYER HIGHLIGHTS
from RUHU Executive Director William
PRAISE – We give praise for…
“The transformative endeavors at the RUHU Secondary School and RUHU Thomas Robert Lochner Farm deserve high praise! The great new construction projects at the RUHU Secondary School mark a pivotal step toward enhancing education and empowering students with an enriched learning environment. These developments reflect a commitment to growth and excellence, fostering future generations equipped with the tools to thrive. The boys’ dorm construction has continued with a positive speed, and we hope that within one and a half months it will be ready to accommodate more than 200 boys. This development is going to help us enroll some students who pay so that we can be able to achieve sustainability.
We thank God for the medical outreaches that have been taking place for the last two weeks, led by Dr. Pamela. These medical outreaches have saved and touched the lives of over 2,000 patients. It’s very rewarding seeing RUHU impacting communities with health and medical treatment.
In this same month, the well that was being constructed at RUHU Secondary was completed and is supplying water to the school. We are now surely blessed with enough water to run the institution. We thank Beautiful Response for this great work.
We express gratitude for the chance to serve through RUHU and for the impact it makes in the community. Every opportunity to serve is a privilege given by God and acknowledging this uplifts the spirit and brings us closer to understanding the divine purpose behind our actions.
We acknowledge the support and wisdom received to lead RUHU. Leadership is a challenging responsibility that often requires divine strength and wisdom, and recognizing this helps foster humility and reliance on God.
We thank God for the positive results and positive change. Each success story is a testament to God’s favor and the efforts of the team. Celebrating these successes motivates everyone involved to continue striving for excellence.
We express gratitude to the dedicated individuals who work with us. The combined efforts, passion, and dedication of the team members are invaluable, and this strengthens the bond between us and enhances teamwork.
PRAYER – We ask for prayers for…
We pray that all kids will have education this term, no matter the fundraising challenges we are facing, which may take us into budget cuts and failure to receive some critical budget items for the school.
We also pray that God provides funds for the start of the Vocational Institute to enable S6 vacists to have a chance to acquire skills for businesses. Many of our kids who have graduated Senior six are still home without hope of going to university or institute.
We seek God’s favor for RUHU’s mission and goals to be achieved. A clear and focused mission aligns RUHU’s efforts with its vision, and divine favor propels these efforts toward success.
We pray for the programs to be impactful and to bring about lasting change. Effective programs are the backbone of RUHU, and asking for divine intervention ensures these programs meet the needs of the beneficiaries.
We pray and seek God’s provision for the RUHU’s financial needs.
We pray for wisdom and unity for the team and leadership. A strong and united team can overcome any challenge, and divine wisdom helps in making the right decisions at the right time.
We pray for resilience and perseverance and strength to overcome challenges and continue working towards RUHU’s vision. The journey of RUHU is fraught with obstacles, and resilience and perseverance are necessary to keep moving forward.
We pray for protection and seek divine protection for all involved in RUHU, including donors, sponsors, partners, friends, beneficiaries, staff, and supporters. Safety and security are paramount, and divine protection ensures that everyone involved remains safe from harm.
We pray for divine wisdom and guidance and ask for God’s guidance on decisions and direction. Making the right choices is critical for the success of RUHU, and seeking divine wisdom ensures these choices align with greater good.“
