RUHU HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT

“The Human Resource department was introduced in RUHU on 6th January 2025, and we thank the Executive Director, the RUHU board, and our donors for making such a great decision to introduce this department for it’s a very important department with the most important resource (employees) that help in the smooth running of the organization.
Human Resource Management is coordinating, managing, and allocating employees in ways that move an organization’s goal forward.
List of goals achieved in the first month (This list was greatly reduced to fit into the newsletter but it gives you an idea of how essential this department is):
– Organize all staff documents by checking employee files and filing the necessary documents to complete the files.
– Key performance indicators (KPIs) forms developed for all staff awaiting the exercise of evaluation.
– Prepared job descriptions for all the employees to help inform the employees about their duties and responsibilities in the organization.
– Organized the staff dinner at Sibyangu Standard Hotel with all RUHU staff and the Beautiful Response team which was to start the new year and appreciate the employees for serving the organization the past year.
– Revision of the Human Resource Manual.
– Engaged the heads of departments about the key performance indicators (KPIs) and was able to guide them on how to evaluate performance with KPIs.
– Onboard meeting with the RUHU Primary school staff both new and existing employees to introduce them to the school environment and the organization’s policies and procedures (e.g. child protection policy, code of conduct, human resource department).”
RUHU SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT

“Holiday Workshops: We have been able to carry out a one-and-a-half-week workshop with the children both from RUHU and the Nakuwadde community where we had a lot of fun with both the children and the volunteers from Australia led by Uncle Caleb. During these workshops we were able to educate the children about how important they are and that they are worth more than what they think they are. The theme of the workshop was “I AM MORE” and we always had declarations about self-worth. The children engaged in many fun activities such as painting, vocational skills training, public speaking, games, aerobics, bible verse memorization, and swimming. Guest speakers also talked to the children about mental health and stepping up the ladder of life. As part of this, we also had a football camp where some children from the slums took part and at the end some were awarded bursaries and they will be enrolling in RUHU schools this term. Great thanks to the social work team.”

Over the past month, we have seen unprecedented support from our donors and volunteers, which has empowered us to extend our services to even more individuals and families in need. Your generosity and dedication are making a tangible difference in the lives of many.
Education: We are immensely grateful for the incredible support that has allowed RUHU children to return to school fully equipped for the new year and term. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the unwavering dedication of our volunteers, every child now has access to the necessary resources and supplies. This ensures they can focus on their studies and thrive in a nurturing educational environment. The joy and excitement on the faces of the young students as they walked into their classrooms, ready and prepared, is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together for a common purpose.
Beautiful Response Visitations: We owe a great deal of our success to the unwavering support of Beautiful Response. Their generous contributions have not only provided the necessary resources for our programs but have also offered us invaluable knowledge and insights. Their collective wisdom and experience have guided our strategies and helped refine our approaches, ensuring that our actions are both impactful and sustainable. Their continuous involvement and commitment have been instrumental in fostering a collaborative environment where ideas flourish and innovative solutions are born. We are profoundly grateful for their presence and the positive influence they have on our mission.
Empowerment Through Education: One of the highlights of this month has been the success of our educational programs. We have seen a remarkable improvement in the enthusiasm of the students involved. Empowerment that comes from education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, and we are overjoyed to see so many young minds flourish.”
PRAYER – We ask for prayers for…
“Guidance and Wisdom for Future Plans: As we look ahead to the coming months, we seek guidance and wisdom in planning and executing our future projects. We pray that we may always align our efforts with the needs of those we serve and that our strategies will be effective and impactful. May we be blessed with insight and foresight to navigate the challenges that lie ahead.
Strength and Resilience for Our Team: Our donors, volunteers, staff, and children are the backbone of RUHU, and we pray for their strength and resilience. The work we do can be demanding and emotionally taxing, and we ask for the fortitude to continue our mission with unwavering commitment and compassion. May our team be blessed with the energy and determination to persevere, and may they always find joy and fulfillment in their work.
Protection and the Well-being of Those We Serve: We hold in our prayers the protection and well-being of the individuals and communities we serve. Many of them face difficult and precarious situations daily, and we ask for their safety, health, and prosperity. May they find hope and comfort through our efforts, and may their lives be filled with peace and stability.
Increased Resources and Support: Lastly, we pray for increased resources and support to continue our mission. The needs are vast, and our ability to meet them is often limited by the resources available. We ask for the continued generosity of our donors and the blessing of new opportunities to expand our reach. May we be equipped with everything necessary to make a lasting and meaningful difference.”
