Our expenses have out paced our donations by about $75,000 so far this year. Red numbers in the budget are always concerning but they give us a very clear goal for the final two months of the year.
We need to exceed $75,000 in year end giving to be able to afford school tuition in January on top of the usual monthly food, medical, and salary expenses. But we can do that! Just over a week ago, that number was $100,000, but we raised $25,000 at our chili supper!
$75,000 is a doable number because of the wide-base of donors that support the work of RUHU through Beautiful Response. Nearly 300 people have made donations this year! When you’re a small organization, each one of those gifts makes a tangible impact on what we are able to do. There was a time when I felt personally responsible for raising whatever our budget deficit was. But there are 300+ of us who need to do this together! Some of you will give $10 to help us get there. Others will give $10,000.
Whatever your capacity is this year, please keep an eye out for our Giving Tuesday and Year-End campaigns. We’ll need 300 people to get us into January in the black. Thank you so much for partnering with us in this final stretch of the year!
