We are thrilled to share with you some wonderful updates from the RUHU Secondary and Vocational School, all thanks to your support and the hard work of the staff and students at RUHU.
Established in 2020, the RUHU Secondary and Vocational School was founded from RUHU’s vision to sustainably educate and empower vulnerable children in its community, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed. From beginning with just an S1 class, the school has grown immensely providing quality education for many students.
Last year RUHU proudly served 135 students across S1-S4 classes, offering a comprehensive Ordinary-level (O-level) curriculum. None of this would have been possible without the incredible dedication of RUHU’s 29 teachers and staff members, who pour their hearts into supporting and mentoring the students at RUHU every single day.
As the first S1 class has progressed over these past 4 years, the need for expansion into Advanced-level (A-level) classes became apparent. Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the RUHU Secondary and Vocational School’s first A-level class, S5. This year’s first cohort comprises the original 10 students who started in RUHU’s first S1 class 4 years ago, and their enthusiasm for continued learning is truly inspiring.
This expansion marks another crucial step towards achieving RUHU’s mission of providing sustainable, quality education for all its students. But the vision doesn’t stop there. RUHU is committed to expanding the school from S1 through S6, ensuring that every student receives a comprehensive education and has access to the opportunities they need to become self-sufficient. Furthermore, as opportunities in both O-levels and A-levels expand, RUHU envisions broadening its vocational offerings to empower students with diverse skills and knowledge.
The success and expansion of the RUHU Secondary and Vocational School would not have been possible without your generous support. As we look ahead, we recognize many needs and opportunities for impact. Providing the materials, resources, and items listed below will ensure that our students receive the comprehensive support they need to succeed.
Incinerator: $1,740 This amount would cover the purchase of an incinerator, which is urgently needed for the safe disposal of sanitary pads.
Well: $7,890 This amount would cover the cost of digging a well that can provide enough water supply to cater to the growing number of students at the Secondary School.
Electricity: $24,335 This amount would provide electricity to all the buildings at the Secondary School, ensuring that there is uninterrupted power supply for school days and evening study time.
