As we approach the end of June and the end of the Financial Year for many of our supporters, we have a lot to be thankful for!
While the first 6 months of 2026 have posed plenty of problems (inflation costs, Ebola, global belt tightening), we have so much to be thankful for! Raising Up Hope for Uganda (RUHU) is pressing on!
Our Primary and Secondary Schools have just received certification to be examination centers, which means our students don’t have to travel to other schools for national exams. It’s an affirmation of the hard work and pride of the RUHU teachers.
A new block of classrooms for the Secondary School, a girls’ dormitory, and vocational school buildings are all either being completed or are underway.
Our Primary School students recently spent the day visiting RUHU’s very own farm, where a new chicken coop is under construction along with a building for the staff to use. Rows of cabbages, greens, and peppers line a property that has transformed into a beautiful farm. The RUHU Primary School kids got to take a day trip to visit the farm, meet the new cows, and learn about the agricultural processes that are producing the food that is feeding RUHU. Seeing the photos of our primary school children wearing their RUHU uniforms visiting the RUHU farm made me think back to the makeshift classrooms and bare cupboards that we saw 15 years ago. How incredible the progress we’ve been able to see!
All of this and much more has taken place already in 2026. I am forever amazed by the perseverance of the team in Uganda. They have been relentless in pursuing a brighter future for the kids we get to serve in Uganda. And I give thanks when I think of all the people who have given generously to support their work.
